We do not buy through brokers in Bangkok. Someone from this office is at the mine, the auction or the local market — which is the only way the origin on the invoice means anything.

Rough is opened, planned and cut under our own roof in Tucson. Nothing goes out to a job shop, which is why a repeat order of calibrated melee comes back the same color and the same millimetre as the run before it.

Most of our buyers are eight time zones away and have never met us. The process below is built so that does not have to be a problem.

Established buyers take goods on memo for 14 days. New buyers are welcome to view in Tucson, or we ship a small selection against a refundable deposit.
Lab reports arranged through GIA, IGI or Gübelin before dispatch when you need them. Turnaround is 5–15 working days depending on the lab and the report.
Full export paperwork — invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and customs declaration. Insured door-to-door courier, 3–6 working days to most destinations.
The packing list matches what is in the paper. That sounds like a low bar until you have bought rough from twelve other people.
We order the same calibrated sapphire melee three times a year and it sets straight out of the packet every time. No re-sorting on our bench.
